It seems that one of the great Xbox video games will set aside its “exclusivity” to jump to another platform. At least, that’s what the insider Nate the Hate claims on his popular podcast.
During the program, Nate stated that in 2024 “Microsoft will bring one of its most acclaimed first-party games to another competing platform […] the title I’m referring to was received with great praise from critics. Fans loved it.”
According to the insider, that game also ran to be crowned as Game of the Year (GOTY) during the year it was released. It is worth noting that Nate the Hate has already been right with his predictions in the past (such as the release of Nintendo Switch OLED), which gives him a higher degree of credibility.
As expected, the community has started to speculate and throw possible names into the ring. One of them, Hi-Fi Rush, is one of the strongest contenders and for good reason: the title from Tango Gameworks has managed to be one of the most highly acclaimed releases both by specialized critics and the public.
And on which platform would we find it? Everything indicates that it will be on Nintendo Switch. It wouldn’t be strange, because this story has already been repeated before in a very similar way. The acclaimed Ori saga (Ori and The Blind Forest and Ori and The Will of the Wisps), previously exclusive to Xbox, also made the leap to Nintendo’s console at some point.
However, it must be made clear that it is only a rumor. Although, as they say, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire”.
