Dead by Daylight has become the quintessential game for all horror enthusiasts who want to embody their favorite horrors. Gradually adding all the great myths of horror cinema, in addition to their own creatures and killers, they are slowly building a roster of superstars where any genre fan can feel right at home. That’s why it shouldn’t surprise us that they have finally decided to include one of the notable absentees, along with the great heroine who has always accompanied him.

The Xenomorph and Ellen Ripley, the absolute protagonists of Ridley Scott’s Alien, are set to arrive in Behaviour Interactive’s game on August 29th as part of a DLC. The Xenomorph will be featured as the killer, while Ellen Ripley will be a survivor, all set in a map based on the wreckage of the Nostromo spaceship.

According to the patch notes from the testing version, playing as the Xenomorph will come with some unique features. It will have the ability to move on all fours, which increases its speed but decreases its terror radius. Similarly, the Xenomorph will be the only killer capable of navigating the tunnels on the new map. However, this advantage doesn’t come without consequences, as survivors near these tunnels can encounter flamethrower turrets that can temporarily incapacitate it. Nevertheless, these turrets will require overheating repairs and can be destroyed by killers.

On Ripley’s side, she will showcase how she survived her initial encounter with her formidable enemy. As such, she will be capable of hiding blood trails and suppressing sounds of pain for 10 seconds while in hiding, in addition to reducing the noise she makes when running while at full health.

As mentioned before, Dead by Daylight: Alien is scheduled for release on August 29th and will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. It will require the base game, Dead by Daylight, and most likely, a steady nerve to maintain composure in the face of such a formidable natural monster that emerged from the mind of H.R. Giger, like the Xenomorph.
