If you’ve been on the internet this week, it’s very likely that you’ve ended up inundated with headlines that start with “Jada Pinkett Smith reveals.” She reveals that she lives separately from her husband, reveals that she fell in love with him again after the slap at the Oscars, reveals that her family gave her the freedom to write her biography, reveals that she likes sunny-side-up fried eggs. She just keeps on revealing. And the worst part is that the colossal annoyance has only just begun.

Please, that’s enough now

For some reason, Jada and Will are convinced that they can teach us a lot about life and love, as if the rest of us mortals have never had romantic problems and therefore don’t know how to behave. The actress has now said that she and her still-husband are going to write a book together called ‘Don’t Try This at Home,’ telling… well, whatever they have left to tell. Which isn’t much.

They have been married since 1997 and apparently separated 19 years later, when their children were grown and independent. However, she promised him they would never separate, and that held true. They can each be involved with whomever they want, they don’t live in the same house, but if one has to defend the other from a joke at the Oscars, they will.

“I hope that one day we can write a book together about how we managed to overcome so much. And all the doors we have passed through. And there have been so many, and many more are yet to come. But… the process he’s going through right now, I think it would help a lot of men.” The good thing about being famous is that you overestimate what you can contribute to the world, which in this case is just making headlines and not much else.

Will Smith, on his part, says that reading the part about their marriage in Jada’s memoir made something click inside him. Maybe that’s what made him refer to her as “wife” again at the Oscars. This couple urgently needs therapy… and they are using books for it. And the rest of us have to endure their drama.
