Today is May 4th and that means it’s the day of all Star Wars lovers. We are not few and we do not go unnoticed. One of the most important IPs in the world has its day and every year we honor the date.
Every year, ever since Disney took over the Star Wars franchise, the Mickey Mouse company reminds us that May 4 is the day of the force, or rather the day when the force is with us.
This year, with Disney+ existing and having all the Star Wars content in one place, the American entertainment company has decided to launch a short video with everything that is on its platform and what is coming soon.
A day to celebrate
“May the Force be with you,” reads a tweet from the official Star Wars Twitter account. “All these Star Wars movies, series and more, now streaming on @DisneyPlus. #MayThe4thBeWithYou.”
Along with images from series and movies like A New Hope, Rogue One and Skywalker Rising, along with Daisy Ridley’s Rey Skywalker and Harrison Ford’s Han Solo. There’s even an image of Jude Law in the new Skeleton Crew project.
All Star Wars fans connect with different elements of the franchise, thanks to the way various concepts and themes have been woven into each adventure over the years.
A Star Wars for every fan
“One of the things we like most about the series we’ve been working on is that the tone of each episode, and in some cases each series, reflects the narrative style of the filmmaker,” Favreau explained on Entertainment Weekly’s Dagobah Dispatch podcast.
“For example in The Mandalorian you can have a lot of different tones. Even though the script is the same for every episode, each filmmaker brings a different perspective. That way we get each episode to be different, even though they all go hand in hand.”
At Softonic we are covering May 4th as if it were the most important day of the year, and no wonder. That’s the thing about this saga, that after more than four decades we are legion. We even like Jar Jar Binks.
