It seems that Dua Lipa is on her way to becoming Hollywood’s new lucky charm. After Barbie, the creator of hits like New Rules or Don’t Start Now makes her appearance in Argylle, the new film by Matthew Vaughn. Moreover, she couldn’t be in better company: Henry Cavill, John Cena, or Bryce Dallas Howard are just a few of the names we’ll see in this new movie distributed by Apple TV+.

The official synopsis reads as follows: “Enter Argylle, a fun and mind-bending spy thriller that will make you question what you know as reality.” It all starts with the novelist Elly Conway, a character played by Bryce Dallas Howard. Her books focus on Argylle, a secret agent portrayed by Henry Cavill. The plot kicks off when Conway’s books start to eerily resemble reality. Alongside her cat Alfie and the spy Aiden (Sam Rockwell), they embark on an adventure where “the line between Elly’s fictional world and the real one begins to blur.”

Filmmaker Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman, Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) is helming the direction, with the script penned by Jason Fuchs. Similar to his most famous franchises, Argylle promises plenty of action, humor, and high doses of mischief.

The cast of Argylle is nothing short of stellar. In addition to the aforementioned actors, the movie features John Cena, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Samuel L. Jackson, to name a few.

As expected for Apple, the deal didn’t come cheap: Cupertino reportedly shelled out $200 million for the film. There are hopes that it could potentially become a new cinematic saga. According to Vaughn, Argylle might “reinvent the spy genre.” Certainly, the director knows how to create hype.

To watch it, we’ll have to wait a bit longer. Argylle is set to hit theaters on February 2, 2024.
