Halo is one of the most recognized video game sagas. The latest title in the franchise, Halo Infinite, was released in December 2021 and since then, we haven’t had any news about any upcoming games. Although we don’t know what to expect yet, new rumors reveal that Halo could see the return of Marcus Lehto, co-creator of the saga.

During the past month of February, Lehto announced his departure from EA, after joining in 2021. Through X, the creative published a post about working with Unreal Engine 5, one of the most popular and powerful graphic engines of the moment. On the other hand, the latest rumors suggest that the next Halo game would also use that same engine.

The last game in the saga where Lehto participated was Halo: Reach, released in 2010. Coincidentally, it was also the last title developed by Bungie, the studio that created Halo in the first place. Lehto left Bungie in 2011 and shortly after, worked on Disintegration with Private Division. Since then, Lehto has not been involved in any Halo game.

Although they may be mere coincidences, who knows if it could eventually become a reality. The reception of Halo: Infinite caused a great diversity of opinions. Many praised its campaign mode and story, while others expressed great disappointment with the multiplayer due to its limitations. Over time, 343 Industries has managed to solve a large part of the errors from its launch and infuse the game with a lot of content (new maps, modes, etc).
