In its day, The Walking Dead was the franchise that everyone wanted to approach. It was the pinnacle of modern television alongside Game of Thrones, and synonymous with quality when it came to portraying a horror story with large doses of humanity. However, this perception changed as the seasons went by, and it went from being the most-watched series to just another one in a catalog full of similar offerings.

Success killed The Walking Dead, a series that had so many seasons that it eventually lost its magic. However, AMC made it clear that it was a brand they weren’t going to get rid of so easily, and thanks to that, they launched a fiction that, this time, recaptures the magic of the early seasons and proves that the world of The Walking Dead is still interesting.

Taking a stroll through France

As the series’ title suggests, Daryl Dixon is a spin-off centered around the character with the crossbow. It is a direct continuation of the original series and follows the journey of the zombie hunter after he arrives in France. Wondering why he’s in France? It’s best to watch the series to find out, but in the meantime, here’s the official synopsis:

“Daryl arrives on the shores of France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series follows his journey through a broken but resilient France as he waits to find his way back home. However, as he makes the journey, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”

So far, two episodes have been released in the United States, and the reviews couldn’t be more positive. It seems that Daryl Dixon brings back everything that made The Walking Dead great: believable human dramas, well-executed action, a terrifying atmosphere, and an incredible setting. In other words, we finally have what we’ve been missing on the small screen for so long.
