Detective Conan is one of the longest running anime series in Japan. The manga has been published since 1996, and the anime has not lagged behind to continue the tradition. Likewise, for almost three decades now, we have been constantly receiving Detective Conan movies, and we are already on our 27th.

This 27th film has no official title yet, but since the Japanese are on a roll, they have not hesitated to release a trailer of what’s to come. But when will this new Detective Conan movie be released? Well, although they are still not clear with the title, the date is going to be much earlier than we think.

When is the 27th Detective Conan movie released?

Along with this first trailer we see the release date of the 27th Detective Conan movie: Spring 2024. It will be released alongside Golden Week 2024, and is always held between late April and early May, so sometime in one of those disparate weeks is when the fan-anticipated film finally arrives.

The franchise is coming off a very good momentum. Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, the latest film to be released, was the highest-grossing Detective Conan film ever, with a not inconsiderable ¥10 billion. There were already other films in the saga that had gone far, so this is a spectacular record.

This new film, which will have the pressure of trying to beat these incredible numbers, is playing with mystery to hide its identity. In the trailer we see very enigmatic clues, but everything seems to indicate that we will see Kaito Kid and Goryōkaku Castle in Hokkaido. We’ll see if the feature film is up to the task, something not easy if we take into account that every year a new one is released.
