It might seem unbelievable to us in Europe, but Donald Trump, the only President of the United States with real possibilities of ending up in jail in their entire history, is currently the candidate with the highest chances of running in the next elections for the Republican Party. That’s the level. And every step of the way, it sinks deeper and deeper into the realm of pure meme.

Donald Trump… Let’s play!

Yesterday was the first day when Trump was going to sit in the dock and face his actions: a $250 million fraud. To sum it up, basically, the state attorney general accuses the former president of lying about his total net worth in the billions of dollars to secure better loan terms. This is hard to defend in itself, but his lawyer hasn’t done anything because she doesn’t take it seriously.

Alina Habba appeared in court with the case well-prepared… on a gaming computer. Specifically, the Asus ROG, whose logo changes colors (something it was doing throughout the entire session). Bored at work? Just play ‘Fortnite.’ Foolproof plan. The computer, by the way, costs between 1300 and 1800 euros, depending on where you look, and has a 17-inch screen, 16GB of DDR4 memory, and, of course, an RGB keyboard. Quite a powerhouse not exactly designed for trials of national importance.

Perhaps this won’t surprise you, but Habba was accused in 2022 of racist behavior in a trial, and apparently, there are videos of her rapping in her office using epithets that clearly are not allowed coming from someone of her status.

The real issue with this lawyer isn’t the gaming computer, which is just a side note. In fact, she probably doesn’t even realize the gravity of the situation. Her major problem right now is that she forgot to request a trial by jury, so she will be judged by Judge Justice Arthur Engoron, whom she has been calling everything from “crazy” to “dangerous” for months. Yes, things don’t look good. At least, I hope her ‘Call of Duty‘ matches are epic.
