What is Dust & Neon about?
The plot follows a resurrected cowboy who has been turned into a cyborg to aid in the destruction of all the robots on Earth.
That’s what Dr. Finkel wants, at least in Dust & Neon. The player character is aided by other NPCs, such as an AI companion, ROB.OT.
That’s the basic plot, but gameplay comes first in this latest roguelike, so let’s go over some quick tips.
Tips to play Dust & Neon better
Difficulty: Despite being a roguelike, the game has several difficulty levels. Players can start the game on Easy or Normal, but cannot change it later, unlike most games.
Even on Easy, the game is not forgiving. This is a full-fledged roguelike, which means it will be very hard.
The difficulty options in general should be a big plus for newcomers to the genre, as they tend to be some of the most challenging games on the market.
Mainline upgrades: During a round, players accumulate experience points that are converted into skill points that are incorporated into a skill tree at the base of operations.
Unlocking these skills will be permanent and, unlike other roguelikes, these points are not lost upon death. In the skill tree, players can assign the points to either the combative or defensive skill.
In Dust & Neon, and in most roguelikes, it is better to use defensive. Be sure to unlock skills to get more health, skills that heal players more with healing kits, and skills that return damage with a countershield.
Don’t waste cores on chests or doors: There are two types of coins in the game in addition to skill points to level up the character. Money can be used in various stores in the HUB world to buy things like weapons and mods.
Be sure not to waste cores while playing a level to unlock certain chests and doors. That would be wasting coins as tempting as it is to unlock them.
Weapon Tips: There are three types of weapons that players will unlock in Dust & Neon. There are pistols, shotguns and rifles. The three types of weapons use different ammunition capacities. Each weapon has its own use in each level. Pistols are the most complete weapons of the group, and should be used in single encounters.
Shotguns are useful for eliminating swarms of enemies that are about to attack. In this way, the scattering of bullets will eliminate groups of enemies more quickly.
Rifles are usually the most powerful, which means they are good against the higher-ranking robots in the game.
Preparing for bosses: Players need to play a few levels before the boss comes out. It is important to note that players do not need to fight the boss immediately once it appears.
They can play levels infinitely and the boss will not run away. So, before facing the first boss, players should get to at least level ten.
