This weekend is going to take place one of the best competitions in the basketball world. It is the Euroleague, the top European basketball competition, and its Final Four format is a lot of fun to watch on TV.
This year, in the Euroleague Final Four 2023 we have a classic between F.C. Barcelona and Real Madrid as the main course in the semifinals. On the other side of the table we have Olympiacos and AS Monaco. Since we don’t have F1, at least we have basketball.
How the Euroleague Final Four works

It’s very simple, only four teams reach the Final Four, which have qualified after finishing in the top 8 of the Euroleague regular phase.
Then they play a round of 16 (1st vs. 8th, 2nd vs. 7th and so on) which are best of 5 matches. That is to say, whoever wins 3 games goes on to the Final Four.
And the Final Four is the final fight: semifinals and final in a single match in one weekend. In the Final Four there is only one game per semifinal and final, so any mistake costs you the cup.
