“Attack on Titan” is one of the most acclaimed anime series of the last few decades. Eren Jaeger‘s story has been captivating screens worldwide since 2013, and from its premiere, it was clear that it was a series like we had never seen before. The decade-long battle between colossal titans and young individuals devoid of all hope has kept us on the edge of our seats, and now it has reached its final conclusion.

Although it seemed like this moment would never come, with new standalone episodes released sporadically, almost like movies in length, we have finally witnessed the end of Attack on Titan. Thanks to the studio MAPPA, the episode titled “The Final Chapters Special 2” has already aired on Crunchyroll. But what do fans think of this conclusion?

A decade later, Attack on Titan finally comes to an end

The final episode of Attack on Titan starts from the moment Eren awakens the titans within the walls and spreads them throughout the rest of the world with the Rumbling. At that moment, an alliance between the Survey Corps and the warriors of Marley appears to try to stop these monstrous beings once and for all. Thus, a final battle for the future of the world ensues.

Throughout this chapter, which feels more like a movie (with a duration of 1 hour and 24 minutes), we witness an epic final battle that allows each character enough time for us to enjoy them one last time. Additionally, we see the havoc Eren wreaks in the world, leaving dozens of victims in his wake, clearly illustrating the consequences of his actions.

However, the episode ends on a bitter note, prompting reflection on human actions in the world, and this aspect has not been well-received by everyone. It’s not a completely happy or neatly wrapped-up ending, and like the manga did in its time, it has taken many fans by surprise. Nevertheless, it is a magnificent and beautifully animated conclusion to a story that has accompanied us for years.
