The release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is just around the corner. However, this great occasion has not prevented Square Enix from releasing a surprise update for Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Initially, it was just a simple update aimed at fixing several bugs on both PlayStation and PC. However, it has also unexpectedly managed to break one of the most used mods by the community.
The affected mod is FFVIIHook, which gives users access to the game’s command console, among other interesting functions. This mod also served to fix errors that were still unresolved by Square Enix, such as the stuttering of some characters. As reported by its users, FFVIIHook is no longer compatible with FFVII Remake, at least for now.
Finally, the update also includes a rather curious detail: a small addition to one of Tifa’s outfits. Specifically, it is the one that appears in a flashback of Nibelheim.
But what change is it about? Now, Tifa is wearing a black undershirt. This subtle detail, noticeable at first glance, is a continuity correction to make this design more similar to the one seen at the beginning of Rebirth. A user from Resetera has posted several screenshots showing the changes between the original outfit and the new one.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be available on the next February 29th and can be played on PS5.
