Starring Kurt and Wyatt Russell, and developed by Matt Fraction and Chris Black, the series is a spin-off from Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse, serving as a bridge between the previous Godzilla vs. Kong and the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The exact premiere date of this series is yet to be announced, but considering The New Empire is set to release on March 16, 2024, it’s highly likely to debut before the end of 2023.

A series full of monsters

The story of Monarch: Legacy of the Monsters will span three generations and focus on two siblings who follow in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch, the kaiju-tracking group featured in Legendary’s Monsterverse films.

The siblings’ investigation will ultimately lead them to Army officer Lee Shaw, portrayed by Wyatt Russell, who must uncover the organization’s secrets. ‘Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows,’ explains the series description, as The Legacy of the Monsters ‘unearths buried secrets and reveals how epic, transformative events can ripple through our lives.’
