Valentine’s Day is a time of love, hope and shared dreams. A day to celebrate with your partner and believe that a future together is possible. Or at least that’s what the brands would have us believe. But it is also the day of spite, marital problems and loneliness for those who are not doing so well in love. And this year, Internet Explorer belongs to the latter group.

In the midst of the Artificial Intelligence and reinvestment boom, Microsoft has decided to put an end to Internet Explorer on this important date. That’s right, Bill Gates’ company (which is way ahead of Google) has decided to leave behind its original browser, giving way to a new one that wants to compete head to head against Google Chrome: Microsoft Edge.

As of February 14, it will no longer be possible to use the browser on Windows 10 devices. This is something that most of us mortals who no longer use the browser should not be disturbed by, but that can generate great chaos in many companies that have not updated their computer systems for years. And they are not few.

A death foretold

Actually, Internet Explorer has already stopped receiving maintenance on November 30, 2021, so now it will simply be the final death of a lethargy that has dragged on for a long time. Now, after a year and a half, the system will be shut down for good.

Once the system is upgraded, Internet Explorer will be inoperative. The only way to use it again would be to revert the update or block it. But there is nothing to fear either: all shortcuts to the program will open in Microsoft Edge, and the history will be switched to this new system, so it will simply be a change for the better.

Be that as it may, since it became a meme for its slowness and its lag compared to browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer has been agonizing until today. Therefore, we can only say goodbye to the system and remember with nostalgia our moments in front of it.
