The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI has garnered significant attention on YouTube, accumulating 85 million views in just 22 hours. This impressive feat surpasses MrBeast’s previous YouTube record (excluding music videos) of 59.4 million views in a single day. While the K-pop group BTS retains the overall 24-hour record with 108 million views, the excitement surrounding GTA 6 has the potential to challenge it.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Grand Theft Auto VI for over a decade, with its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013. That game achieved immense success, generating $815.7 million on its release day and becoming the second-best-selling video game of all time, according to the Guinness World Records.

The trailer for GTA 6 was initially scheduled for release on a Tuesday morning. However, due to a leak on Twitter the day before, Rockstar Games opted to release the official trailer and remove the unauthorized version. Rockstar’s Twitter post showcasing the trailer attracted 1.1 million likes and 82 million views.

MrBeast, a stunt philanthropist, held the previous non-music video record with a video showing contestants from various countries participating in a competition. Among his other popular works, he recreated the well-known Netflix show “Squid Game” for a YouTube video.

As anticipation continues to rise, Grand Theft Auto VI is set to be released in 2025. Fans of the gaming franchise eagerly await the opportunity to dive into GTA 6’s immersive world, while Rockstar Games’ success on YouTube demonstrates the unwavering enthusiasm for this long-awaited entertainment product.
