Family Guy has become a cultural phenomenon almost as big as The Simpsons, and to realize this you just have to take a look at its numbers. Despite being in its 23rd season, the series continues to captivate a large part of the American audience, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change in the future.
After its latest renewal, creator Seth MacFarlane has explained in Los Angeles Times if there will continue to be Family Guy in the future. Spoiler: the answer is yes, and he has no intention of stopping at all.
Family Guy has no end
“At this point, I don’t see a good reason to stop,” says the director. “People still love it. It makes people happy and funds good causes. There is a lot of leftover money that we donate to Rainforest Trust, and we can still go out to dinner that night.” And he continues:
“There was a moment when I thought: it’s time to finish. But, at this point, we have reached escape velocity. I don’t know if there is any reason to stop at this point unless people get tired. Unless the numbers show that people simply say: ‘Hey, we don’t care anymore about Family Guy‘. But that hasn’t happened yet.”
