Buying an iPhone is not cheap. The popular Apple phone has always been known for costing a fortune (although its competitors are not far behind), but the upcoming generation has decided to raise its prices even further. New rumors suggest that the future iPhone 15 Pro Max will be more expensive than its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
At least that’s what Jeff Pu, a technology analyst from Haitong International Securities based in Hong Kong, claims. As reported by MacRumors, Pu predicts that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be launched with a higher base price than the current one, at $1,099 (€1,471.6 in Spain, which is quite a sum).
Is this price increase justified for the iPhone 15 Pro Max? Rumors suggest that Apple’s most expensive phone will come with a new feature that the other models won’t have: a periscope lens camera. Currently, Pu believes that the new iPhone 15 models will enter production next month in August. This aligns with Apple‘s previous roadmap before announcing iPhones in September.
What is a periscopic lens?
For now, we know that the iPhone 15 will have the same camera setup we have seen before: a dual-camera module for the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, and a triple-camera setup for the Pro and Pro Max models. However, it is the iPhone 15 Pro Max that will debut the famous periscope lens. What exactly does this new addition bring?
In essence, it is a telephoto sensor that allows us to capture photos from long distances (without sacrificing quality). The new periscope lens will provide an optical zoom of 6X. This is a significant improvement over the iPhone 14 Pro, which only offers up to 3X optical zoom.
