As the date for Apple’s official unveiling of their new iPhones draws near, speculations and rumors are only growing stronger. The color of an iPhone might seem like a minor detail to some, but for many users, it’s an essential part of the device’s design and aesthetics. And if the latest rumors are true, it appears that Apple is willing to bring back a color that was a huge success in previous models: light green.

Green returns, but a different shade of green

Renowned leakers @MajinBuOfficial and @URedditor have dropped the informational bomb. According to their sources, the entry-level models, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, will be available in a new light green color finish. The comparison they provide to describe the color is that this new shade will be very similar to the green finish that was so successful on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.

However, one question remains to be resolved: will this color be an available option from the launch of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus in September, or will it be a later addition, possibly in the spring of 2024? In recent years, we’ve seen new colors introduced in the spring a couple of times. So now, among the leaks of new colors—which seem to be dominating the rumors this year—there is a need for certainty about their release timing.

This light green would join other color options for these models, such as black, blue, yellow, and pink. As is customary, Apple typically releases its standard iPhones in the (PRODUCT)RED version, a deep red color that is not only an aesthetic delight but also serves a charitable purpose.

While we await the invitation to the iPhone 15 unveiling event, which could arrive today or sometime this week, it must be acknowledged that the reintroduction of this light green shade, albeit with slight variations, would be an excellent move by Apple. A color that garnered a lot of attention during the iPhone 12 launch and would now return to the stage as one more option to consider when purchasing our new iPhone 15.
