This is not a drill: we are getting closer to being able to celebrate the announcement of the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong. What initially seemed like a tasteless joke has turned out to be true and Team Cherry’s game has officially appeared listed in the Microsoft store.

The long-awaited title appeared on April 1st, known as April Fools’ Day. Pranks are common on this date, so many fans received the news with a lot of skepticism.

However, Tao Sila, product marketing manager at Xbox, confirmed through a tweet that it was not a joke: “No, this is not an April Fools’ joke. The wishlist page for Hollow Knight: Silksong is already active on Xbox.”

This has caused the community to ignite again on social media due to the thirst for news about Silksong. It has been five years since we saw part of the gameplay of Hollow Knight: Silksong during E3, leaving the audience expectant and wanting more.

Its protagonist, Hornet, left a great mark in the hearts of Hollow Knight players due to her charisma and gameplay mechanics. However, she also has a great disadvantage compared to the beloved Hollow Knight: the weight of expectation.

While we wait for the release of Silksong, we still have plenty of time to play and replay Hollow Knight hundreds of times (as long as you have the skill for it). Team Cherry’s metroidvania is among the best in the genre and is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
