If you watched TV during the 90’s or even the first decade of the 2000’s, chances are that you have crossed paths with El Chino Cudeiro, Pinky-Winky or Mrs. Dolores. All of these characters, and many more, were recurring characters from the TV show Humor amarillo, localization of the Japanese show called Fūun! Takeshi Jō (Fun! Takeshi’s Castle). Well, we are here to give you fantastic news: this July 10, Takeshi’s Castle returns exclusively to Amazon Prime Video.

Takeshi’s Castle in Spain will feature the voices of comedians Dani Rovira, Eva Soriano and Jorge Ponce, as well as the special collaboration of the famous streamer Mister Jägger.

The emblematic duo formed by Fernando Costilla and Paco Bravo, who participated in the program in its re-release in the 2000s, will return to the recording booth to participate as part of the cast of this new installment. Likewise, the musical duo Venga Monjas is in charge of the main theme song and will create an exclusive song for each of the show’s episodes.

This format was a hit when it premiered in 1986 in Japan, where it had up to 133 episodes until 1990. In Spain, precisely, it premiered in 1990 and lasted until 1995, a five-year period in which voices such as Juan Herrera, Miguel Ángel Coll, José Mota or Juan Muñoz were regulars. However, and as already mentioned, its real boom took place during its rebroadcasting in 2006 on the Cuatro television channel, a new life that lasted until 2007 and with countless rebroadcasts.
