American Horror Story, the Ryan Murphy series that glorified figures such as Evan Peters and popularized horror fiction on platforms, is about to reach its 12th season. Aired on Disney Plus since the platform landed, the series has not stopped gaining fans since it was a phenomenon in the early 2000s, and its seasons have already gone through all kinds of horror genres.

After wrapping its 11th season a few months ago, Murphy is already preparing the next batch of episodes, and for that he will have a very special star: Kim Kardashian. The showrunner has announced to The Hollywood Reporter that the businesswoman, model and now actress will appear in the series.

Cast of American Horror Story 12

Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world. We are thrilled to welcome her to the American Horror Story family,” explains Ryan Murphy about the announcement of Kim Kardashian‘s addition to the main cast.

Kim Kardashian’s character will be “funny, stylish and ultimately terrifying” according to Murphy about the character written by screenwriter Halley Feiffer. Apparently, the showrunner has been after Kardashian since he saw her as a Saturday Night Live host, a time when she showed a great ability to laugh at herself and an impressive charisma.

After talking to her during the summer of 2022 to offer her the role, Murphy ended up capturing the attention of Kardashian, who will join the series as an important character, as Lady Gaga did in her quasi-debut as an actress. Kardashian, however, has already had roles and cameos in fictions such as How I Met Your Mother, CSI: New York, 30 Rock or Ocean’s 8.

Alongside her we know that Emma Roberts will be there. The actress who starred in the first and third seasons of American Horror Story returns again as one of the main actresses of the cast. According to her words, she is as excited as Murphy himself to “collaborate with this great icon of the culture”, and her role is expected to be decisive.

No other cast members have yet been confirmed. Sarah Paulson said she was not, at the moment, interested in returning to the franchise, and Evan Peters is in a golden moment that takes him a bit away from fiction. Who did say she might return at some point is Taissa Farmiga, who made it clear in early 2022 that she might return: “I played Violet when I was 17, when I started acting and I was discovering myself. So, every time someone mentions AHS, it’s like, ‘It’s like a matter of time’“.

Synopsis for American Horror Story 12

So far we have only received small teasers of what is to come, something they are used to from the series. However, we do know what story they are going to tell, since Ryan Murphy has confirmed that it will be an adaptation of Delicate Condition, a novel by Danielle Valentine. The name of the season, in fact, will be AHS: Delicate.

The story of Delicate Condition is about a woman who is convinced that there is a sinister presence preventing her from having a viable pregnancy. According to Murphy, the story will be “the feminist approach to The Devil’s Seed that we needed”. And it will be brought to fruition by Halley Feiffer, who will serve as both director and screenwriter.

American Horror Story 12 premiere

American Horror Story season 12 is expected to arrive in September or October 2023. That is, during the fall. Although the tenth season was delayed a year by COVID, the fiction usually plans its premiere for these dates.

What is not clear is whether AHS: Delicate will arrive directly to Disney Plus or we will have to wait for it to premiere in the United States first, as has been usual in the coming years.
