Riot continues to plan new updates full of content for League of Legends. In this case, it seems that the company has taken inspiration from the successful Vampire Survivors, as we can see in their new development diary.
In this video, Riot Games employees have presented the updates of the Arena mode, the Lee Sin Art and Sustainability Update (ASU), and the inclusion of a PvE mode. The latter is described by Selina Liu, from Riot Games, as a “bullet heaven” survival mode where Eduardo Cortejoso adds that “you will be able to fight against hordes of enemies alone or with friends”. The future PvE survival mode will arrive in League of Legends in the upcoming summer event, with a yet to be determined date.
The Arena mode is also being updated: now, it will allow up to 16 players in the lobby and we will also have the Prismatics, a new type of object. On the other hand, Lee Sin, one of the oldest champions in League of Legends, receives a completely redesigned model with updated animations and effects.
Vampire Survivors, the success of 2022
Vampire Survivors was first available as early access in 2021, although its full version wouldn’t be released until almost a year later. Inspired by Magic Survival, it is an action rogue-lite game with time mechanics where you have to fight against continuous waves of monsters.
