Elon Musk thinks he’s likable. And that’s a problem when, well, you’re not likable. And when your face is associated with three of the world’s most famous companies (Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter), the fact that you’re more of a caricature of yourself than a capable leader ends up causing harm. Naturally. But Elon doesn’t want to stop being a big millionaire kid who thinks he’s making hilarious memes… until reality has caught up with him.

It was during the final of a ‘Valorant’ tournament, where, in the middle of a match, the magnate’s face was focused on, and he immediately became the target of boos, somewhat akin to Mr. Burns at the Springfield Film Festival. And no, they weren’t chanting “Boo-urns” either. The crowd gathered in Los Angeles to watch the Valorant Champions final saw a golden opportunity to make their voices heard.

“Bring Back Twitter!” they yelled from the stands, although, truth be told, Musk didn’t show any reaction. On the other hand, we also weren’t expecting him to suddenly say, “Well, you know what, you’re right, my multi-year strategy is over now.” Some things are not meant to happen, but hey, this is how we spend our time away from the internet in 2023: shouting at people from the internet.

Musk’s latest move on the social platform previously known as Twitter (currently as well, although you don’t know anyone who calls it “X”) has been to attempt to create a LinkedIn on a social network that still primarily revolves around posting 240-character messages and getting into heated arguments with strangers. This, coupled with his peculiar decisions (today announcing it will be a paid platform, tomorrow saying I’ll remove the blocked users), leads to situations like this, characteristic of a complete disconnect from the real world.

The last time someone crossed paths with Musk, they ended up selling out for a hefty sum, so who knows, he might end up buying ‘Valorant’. As they were discussing on TikTok, he would probably end up calling it “V”.
