We knew it was going to arrive on time, but now it’s official confirmation. Insomniac Games, the development studio behind Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (among many other games), has posted on its official profile that the development of the video game has already been completed.

Of course, this was done through the typical phrase “it’s gone Gold.” When a game goes “Gold,” it means that production has finished, and the game enters the disc duplication phase for physical editions, it can be uploaded to servers to make the first version available, and so on, ultimately summarizing that it’s completed.

Taking advantage of the message that it has gone Gold, the studio has released a video where the game’s lead actors are responsible for delivering this news. In this way, faces like Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales), Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker), Laura Bailey (Mary Jane Watson), or Tony Todd (Venom) are in charge of reassuring players that the game is finished.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available exclusively for PlayStation 5 on October 20th. It’s been six years since the release of the first part and four years since the launch of the expansion centered around Miles Morales. During all this time, Insomniac has also worked on other games, but there is no doubt that the spotlight was on this new installment of the web-slinger.

Everything points – at least we think so thanks to the gameplay – that the narrative will bring Venom as the main antagonist of this adventure. We’re eagerly looking forward to seeing the introduced innovations, such as the ability to switch between the two Spideys in real-time, each with their own abilities.
