This past weekend, we had the wonderful EVO 2023, the most significant fighting game championship on the planet. In this tournament, thousands of players gather to compete and reach the top, but it’s also a perfect moment to make announcements about future releases, as is the case with one of the most anticipated ones: Project L, the fighting game of League of Legends.

During this new presentation to the players, we’ve learned more details about the fighting video game. To begin with, the most important one is related to the new fighter we’ll have in the Project L roster: Yasuo, The Unforgiven. The legendary League of Legends character inspired by a samurai will also be present in this production, which fits perfectly given his gameplay in the MOBA.

But that wasn’t the only news. Participants and spectators of EVO 2023 also had the opportunity to play an exclusive demo. This demo included four fighters (Yasuo, Darius, Ahri, and Ekko) and allowed players to try out the fighting game for the first time, something that hadn’t happened until now.

Since the demo wasn’t available for download from the Internet, Riot Games has released a video explaining how to play this free-to-play video game. The footage showcases the most important combos and moves in Project L, as well as a significant feature: since there are two fighters on each side, the possibility for two players also exists. This means there could be two-versus-two battles involving players (not just characters).

Project L still doesn’t have a release date, but all indications point to its arrival in 2024 for an initial testing phase.
