This year, the Ryans are in luck. Ryan Gosling is making it big thanks to his role as Ken in Barbie, and Ryan Reynolds is getting even more fame thanks to what we know about Deadpool 3 and the rise of Wrexhan, a team he bought in the UK with Bob McElhenney.

Now, Ryan Reynolds is back in the headlines with a surprising news. The actor has just resurrected Alf, the 1980s TV phenomenon of whom he is considered an ultra-fan. Reynolds’ production company, Maximum Effort, has acquired the rights to Alf, and is already preparing everything for the return of the mythical TV character.

Alf returns to star in commercials

At the moment, Maximum Effort is preparing new sponsored segments under the name “Maximum Moments”, in which the alien will be in charge of promoting several brands with his characteristic humor. Some of these brands are Amazon, HIMS, Fubo, MNTN, Ring and Mont Mobile. The spots will debut on July 29th as part of a marathon of Alf’s best moments.

“At Maximum Effort we love taking risks and blurring the lines between shows and sponsorships because we believe both can be equally entertaining. In addition to my irrational love of Alf growing up, one of the reasons we licensed this series was precisely because Paul, Shout! Studios and our intrepid brand partners wanted to conspire with us to bring Alf back to life,” explained Reynolds.

But Reynolds is not alone in this return. The production company has also hired Paul Fusco, Alf’s creator and original interpreter of the character. Thus, we can say that the creature returns to 100% of its characteristics. For the moment, he will do it with advertising, but it is not ruled out that he will return soon with his own show.
