The Star Wars universe is big, very big. Not only in terms of history and cultural richness, but also in terms of ongoing projects and budget. Disney bought the franchise from Lucas Arts to make money, and they are doing just that.

The only negative thing, although it depends on how you look at it, is that the great Adam Driver is not in those new projects. Or so he assures us, as he has spoken in recent days about the future of Star Wars… at least as far as he is concerned.

After rumors linked the actor to a return in Rey’s Jedi Order movie, Adam Driver has confirmed that he will not return to the Star Wars franchise.

Kylo Ren will not be in the new Star Wars movies

In April 2023, it was announced that Daisy Ridley would return for an upcoming Star Wars film set after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Unofficially titled Rey’s new Jedi Order Star Wars movie, the announcement of the project caused many to speculate which characters from the sequel trilogy could return in the film alongside Ridley.

Although Adam Driver, the actor who plays Kylo Ren, was one of the names that were often mentioned, the actor has confirmed that he will not return to Star Wars during his appearance on the Smartless podcast.

When asked about whether Driver will reprise his role as Kylo Ren in the future, the actor from the sequel trilogy said the following: “They are doing things, but not with me. I’m not going to do anymore.” Driver then received the response of “Are you done because the character is done?”, to which Driver confirmed.

This is how it’s time to say goodbye to a character who, with effort, managed to win the hearts of fans. Although it is difficult to justify his comings and goings in his sense of the force and his love for certain characters in the saga. Thank you for everything, Adam.
