It’s not one of the most well-known, but it is certainly a very good one. Star Wars: Dark Forces now has an assigned release date. Although the game was announced earlier this year in 2023, until now we didn’t know when it would be released. Thanks to information published today, we now know that it will be available for purchase on February 28, 2024.

Nightdive, the studio responsible for the remaster, has stated that the game will support resolutions up to 4K and a frame rate of 120 frames per second. Naturally, this performance will depend on the platform where it’s being played, but this will be the upper limit to offer the best possible visual representation.

Additionally, the studio has mentioned that the graphics have been rendered in 3D for improved visualization. They have included compatibility for modern controllers, trophies, and achievements on consoles like PlayStation and Xbox, among many more features that are yet to be announced (there’s still time until February, so we’ll have to wait for further updates).

Launched in 1995 for PC, this first-person game was one of the best experiences the saga had within action games. In it, players assume the role of Kyle Katarn, a mercenary for the Rebel Alliance who must undertake various missions to fight against the Empire. Admittedly, the story isn’t remarkably surprising, but the gameplay it offers is intriguing, especially in a time when such experiences were rare.

If you never had the chance to play it in the mid-90s, now you will be able to do so, and with the best possible version.
