When we made the list of the most anticipated video games for 2023, Starfield appeared among them. The reasons are logical, since Bethesda’s work is one of the most demanded by users, and even more so if we consider that it should be released before June 30, 2023.
This information is not a rumor, but provided by Microsoft itself. The company said during its Summer 2022 event that all the games from that show would be released by June 30, 2023. And all are all, without exception. However, as the weeks go by we note that there are many titles that still remain undated, as is the case of Starfield itself, but it seems that there is a thread of hope.
The GoG Galaxy platform has made the hare jump with information related to the product sheet of the game. According to this, the release date would be next June 29, 2023. From here, many factors come into play. The first one is easy: it may be a placeholder date. When we refer to a “placeholder” it is a date placed with no other intention than to fill it in. However, in this case it is special, since placeholder dates are always December 31 of that year, not a day as specific as June 29th.
On the other hand, in the Xbox Two podcast, Jez Corden pointed out that Starfield would be released in June, which was the date he had been told by close sources. Considering that Jez Corden is the managing editor of Windows Central, a website known for having Microsoft information before anyone else -as they have demonstrated hundreds of times-, the date becomes more relevant than ever and is in line with that of GoG.
In addition, we must add to this what was mentioned in the first paragraph, i.e. that Starfield should appear before June 30 for Microsoft to keep its word. Silksong would also have to do so, although that one seems to be even more silent.
