Tera, the long-running MMO from developers Bluehole Studios, has been entertaining players since 2010. During this time, players have seen many expansions, updates and events as the publishers, Gameforge, kept the game alive. However, it seems that the adventure is coming to an end.
While the fantasy-action game has enjoyed many years, Bluehole Studios recently announced that they’d be closing the Tera servers at the end of June. Bluehole Studios will also not be doing any more work on the game between now and June 30th. However, they will still maintain the servers until then.
Gameforge will be holding a few permanent events during the last few months to ensure that fans of the game enjoy the last bits of Tera before it’s gone forever. Registering a new account or buying the in-game Tera Thalers currency will no longer be possible from May 31st. This date is also when Tera Club purchases will be stopped.
The publishers, Gameforge, have also warned players that outstanding Thaler balances will not be refunded, and they urge players to spend them between now and June 30th. Tea Club memberships that have been bought and run past June 30th will be eligible for a partial refund. The publishers urge any players with such memberships to contact the payment support team for assistance with their refunds.
More than a decade of work is coming to an end soon, but we look forward to seeing what Bluehole Studios will be focusing on next. While there isn’t much more information available, you can read more about the decision to end the game on Gameforge’s official FAQ.
