For those who don’t know, Star+ is a really important television channel in the United States. The thing is that this network is not known in Europe mainly because it operates under the umbrella of Disney and its streaming service Disney+.

For this reason, being in the dates we are (specifically Christmas), we want to recommend you a lot of series that you have probably overlooked these years by not knowing this entertainment channel that has such a good reputation in the United States.

The selection we have made is based solely on our criteria and how much we have liked the series you are about to discover. They are all ideal to watch during Christmas, when there is more free time and the popcorn smells freshly made. Let’s go!

The best Star+ series you can watch at Christmas

The Great North

Follow the adventures of the Tobin family in Alaska, as a single father, Beef, does everything he can to keep his strange group of children close, especially his only daughter, Judy, whose artistic dreams take her away from the family fishing boat and into the glamorous world of the local mall.

The family is completed by Judy’s older brother, Wolf, and his fiancée, Honeybee, her middle brother, Ham, and her ten-year-old younger brother, Moon. In the absence of her mother, Judy seeks guidance from her new boss, Alyson, and her imaginary friend, Alanis Morissette, who appears to her in the form of an aurora borealis.

M.O.D.O.K

The megalomaniac supervillain M.O.D.O.K. (Patton Oswalt) has long been pursuing his dream of someday conquering the world. But after years of setbacks and failures fighting against Earth’s mightiest heroes, M.O.D.O.K. has brought his evil organization A.I.M. to ruin.

Deposed as leader of A.I.M., while dealing with his marriage and family life, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing faces his greatest challenge: a midlife crisis… that will shake the Marvel Universe to its core! This adult animated series is something very different for Marvel fans.

The Wonder Years

Inspired by the award-winning and beloved series of the same name, “The Wonder Years” is a new original comedy about coming of age that tells the story of the Williams family in the late 60s, all through the perspective of imaginative 12-year-old Dean.

With the wisdom of his adulthood, Dean’s hopeful and humorous memories of his past highlight the ups and downs of growing up in a middle-class black family in Montgomery, Alabama, and the friendship, laughter, and lessons along the way. An ideal series to enjoy with family.

Vacation Friends

In this raw and lascivious comedy, Marcus and Emily (Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji) become friends with Ron and Kyla (John Cena, Meredith Hagner), wild and thrill-seeking partygoers, at a resort in Mexico.

Living in the moment, the usually sensible couple lets go to enjoy a week of uninhibited fun and debauchery with their new “vacation friends”.

Months after their wild adventure, Marcus and Emily are horrified when Ron and Kyla show up uninvited to their wedding, creating chaos and proving that what happens on vacation doesn’t necessarily stay on vacation.

Candy

Candy Montgomery is a housewife and mother of the eighties who has done everything right, but when the pressure of conformity takes over, her actions cry out for a little freedom.

Until someone tells her to be quiet. With deadly results. A dramatic, dark and thrilling series that is well worth a binge-watch.

Solar Opposites

A family of extraterrestrials from a better world must take refuge in Central America, and they can’t agree on whether Earth is horrible or impressive.

Watching this adult animated comedy on Disney+ still seems a bit wrong to me, as it is extremely crude and violent. If you like other adult animated series like “South Park” or “Family Guy”, don’t hesitate to watch it.

The Bear

Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, a young chef from the world of haute cuisine, returns to Chicago to run her family’s sandwich shop after the heartbreaking death of her older brother.

While Carmy struggles to transform the restaurant and himself, his tough kitchen team ends up revealing themselves as his chosen family. It is one of the best series of 2022. And the second season is one of the best of 2023.

The Old Man

This series focuses on Dan Chase, who escaped from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid ever since. When a killer arrives and tries to eliminate Chase, the old agent learns that in order to secure his future, he must reconcile with his past.

The FBI’s Deputy Director of Counterintelligence is called upon to hunt down Chase due to his complicated past with the unscrupulous fugitive. It’s an extremely good drama.
