We are in luck, at least all Star Wars fans. In a time where everything gets canceled and projects don’t come to fruition, Disney has the artillery ready to give us a lot of series and movies in 2024.
Lucasfilm has officially confirmed that the second season of Ahsoka is being developed by Dave Filoni, protege of George Lucas and co-creator of Ahsoka Tano.
The Ahsoka Disney+ television series was a success for the streaming service and played a crucial role in the development plans of the Mandalorian era. It introduced Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, the main villain of this part of the Star Wars timeline.

Lucasfilm has finally confirmed that Dave Filoni is working on the second season of Ahsoka. The first season of Ahsoka ended with Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) trapped in a distant galaxy, on the planet Peridea.
The second season of Ahsoka will presumably take place alongside The Mandalorian and Grogu, confirmed as the next Star Wars movie.
For months there has been speculation about the second season of Ahsoka, and it was Rosario Dawson herself who confirmed that she had no news. It’s exciting to finally have confirmation that it’s underway, and it’s clear that she will play an important role in Lucasfilm’s ongoing story.
The end of the first season of Ahsoka revealed that the mysterious planet Peridea is somehow linked to the Mortis gods, cosmic avatars that represent aspects of the Force.
Lucasfilm’s comments suggest that development is still in its early stages, so it’s likely that there won’t be any more news for some time.
Meanwhile, the story of this era will continue in The Mandalorian & Grogu, a movie that will bring to the big screen Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and his beloved apprentice Grogu. Characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn may appear in it before Ahsoka in the second season.
