Modern Warfare III is the direct sequel to Modern Warfare II, which ended with a major cliffhanger (spoiler alert): Captain Price and Task Force 141 discovered that the villain Makarov was the mastermind behind all the global conflicts they had experienced, and they set out to stop him once and for all.

From what is shown in its promotional material, the game will have an epic and cinematic campaign with highly diverse settings and situations that will keep you glued to your seat. While this is the general dynamic with each COD installment, this time there will also be a significant innovation: Open Combat Missions (OCM).

These missions promise to be one of the most innovative additions to the Call of Duty series, as they will allow the player to choose how to approach the objectives, with different weapons, paths, and strategies. Additionally, the campaign will incorporate elements from multiplayer, such as supply crates, armor plates, or vests, to provide more options and depth to the combat.

According to the game’s Creative Director, David Swenson, the introduction of these missions aims to provide more freedom and variety to the player, and make the campaign more similar to the multiplayer experience.

Multiplayer, of course, is another of the major attractions of Modern Warfare III, which will feature 16 remastered maps from Modern Warfare II, over 12 new maps for the 6v6 mode, and new maps for the Ground War mode, which offers massive battles with vehicles and objectives.

The game will also have a Zombies mode, created by Treyarch, which will offer a new story and an open-world map where players can cooperate online with other users to survive the hordes of the undead.
