Only one month left for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, one of the most anticipated reboots in the COD series. Activision‘s new title has received military consultation and will include the popular Zombies mode, a fan favorite.
“With the highly anticipated first beta already released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 (until tomorrow, the 10th), many players have had a chance to experience the game’s online mode. However, the experience for some is not all that great. The culprits? Cheaters, who are already up to no good even before the game’s official launch.
As seen in a video shared by the Twitter account CharlieIntel, belonging to the Dexerto group, a player in an online match died under very strange circumstances: the killcam shows a player from the opposing team tracking them through a completely opaque wall, always knowing their position.”
For those who have played online first-person shooters, they will know that cheats are commonplace, especially in the Call of Duty series. What is seen in the video is one of the many functions that cheaters have at their disposal through various tools, some of which are designed ‘to their liking’ thanks to hackers who charge for creating these cheats.
“But how could hackers have already created cheats for a game whose beta was released just 3 days ago, and that is on completely closed platforms with many security systems? According to the details in the Community Note on Twitter included in CharlieIntel’s tweet, the cheating player allegedly obtained a leaked development kit.
Thanks to development kits, players can access internal game tools without being automatically banned by security systems (although they can be manually banned based on reports from affected users).”
Regardless, it’s clear that Activision must ensure that their game is as secure as possible for the players. The second beta of Modern Warfare 3 will be available from the 12th, on both PS4 and PS5 as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, until the 16th. The campaign’s Early Access will launch on November 2nd.
