Fallout has become one of the star series of 2024. The adaptation of the original video games by Bethesda has achieved great success with both critics and audiences thanks to the first season of a series that promises to last for years. And it’s no wonder: both its story, its protagonists, and its production design are as spectacular as the video games on which it is based.

However, more than being an adaptation of any of the Fallout games, it is actually a new story set in the same video game world. Occasionally, we see cameos and easter eggs, but the audience should not expect the protagonists and antagonists of the games to appear… at least for now. Graham Wagner, co-creator of the series, has explained why they have made that decision, especially with some very common enemies: the Deathclaws.

Coming Soon in Fallout – Season 2

Deathclaws are very common monsters in Fallout, as they are basically genetically modified creatures developed by the United States army to replace humans during close combat search and destroy missions. Essentially, there is no Fallout without Deathclaws, as they are the colonizers of a large part of post-bomb United States. Wagner explains their absence:

We wanted to add Deathclaws, but we didn’t want to just throw them away. It’s such a monumental piece in the Fallout universe that we wanted to save it for season 2, so we could use them properly, not just adding them to the massive world building we already had to do in season 1. So, in season 2, we are very excited to announce that they will appear as one of the iconic elements of the games”.

So now you know: if you have enjoyed season 1, get ready because the second one is coming with much more. Once the world that is presented in the first episodes has been built, it’s time for the writers to enjoy their creation.
