The world of manga never stops. There are always new titles, new releases, hidden gems we’re not aware of. It’s an industry in perpetual motion, absolutely impossible to fully encompass, always holding surprises even right in front of us. The latest news comes from Shonen Jump, which has announced that we’ll be able to follow the new manga from a renowned author that started a few weeks ago, but there was no official way to follow it outside of Japan. Until now.

According to information from the Shonen Jump Twitter account, they will be adding the new manga by Satoru Noda, the creator of Golden Kamuy, starting from Wednesday, October 8th. This means readers will be able to access the first eleven chapters published so far in Japan. The remaining chapters will be published simultaneously in Japanese and, at least, in English, through the Shonen Jump platform, completely free of charge.

This manga, DOGSRED, has an interesting backstory. Launched on July 27th in Weekly Young Jump, it is a recreation of Noda’s own old manga titled Supinamarada! By taking elements from that story and giving them a new form, he has decided to tell a new story based on certain common elements.

In both cases, the action takes place in Hokkaido, following an artistic skater named Shirakawa Rou. In the case of DOGSRED, after achieving the highest score of all time in the All-Japan Junior Championships finals, he experiences a sudden and inexplicable fit of rage. This leads to his disqualification and a permanent ban from participating in any figure skating events. Now called “The Rabid Dog Prince,” he finds a new future in a place where violence is appreciated: ice hockey.

With extremely expressive artwork and plenty of action, the series has the potential to be a true marvel, especially considering the creator’s track record with Golden Kamuy. Fans will have to wait until Wednesday, November 8th, to discover more about it.
