In the country of the Beatles and Queen, this moment will be followed to the millimetre by millions of citizens. They are very monarchical there, much more so than in Spain.

For this reason, the celebration is going to be very big and eccentric. For example, we already have the playlist of the music that will be played during the coronation ceremony. Here it is in case you are interested (they are all great songs).

A bust of more than 20 kg of chocolate

A life-size bust of the King has been made from more than 17 litres of melted chocolate before his coronation.

The sculpture, which weighs more than 23 kg, was created with some 2,875 chocolates. That is, almost as many diamonds as the crown that Charles III will wear during the ceremony.

It took four weeks to make and shows Carlos in the uniform he is expected to wear on 6 May 2023.

Among the chocolates used to decorate the model are miniatures of Snickers, Mars, Twix, Milky Way, Galaxy and Bounty.

It was created by a team of chocolatiers and modellers for the Slough-based confectionery company Mars Wrigley’s.

The BBC explains that it was designed to show a profile view of King Charles III as close as possible to the image that will soon adorn stamps, coins and banknotes.

Emily Owen, brand director, said: “The team studied hours of images of the King to capture his true likeness and the resemblance is uncanny”. The bust will be displayed at the company’s headquarters in Slough.

The King, who will be crowned alongside Camilla, the Queen consort, will be the 40th reigning monarch to be crowned there since 1066.

The coronation will be held at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May. God save the Queen… I mean the King.
