Microsoft and 343 Industries continue to provide more free content to Halo: Infinite through the Operations. These events, of short duration, came to replace the Seasons system. Thus, players can enjoy new content every six weeks instead of waiting longer periods. The Yappening II has been the latest to arrive in Halo: Infinite and as the main novelty, it adds a game variant that many already know.
The name The Yappening II alludes to a previous event, The Yappening, which took place in September 2022. As a token of gratitude for the continued support, Gruntpocalypse returns to Halo once again. On Halo Waypoint, we can find more information about this new mode, which was exclusive to Halo Reach:
“This time, you will face the largest contingent of Banished from Balaho you have ever seen. They are all Grunts, all the time. A warlord’s dream, really. […] And have we mentioned there is a twist? Yes, we know Spartans always try to come out on top, so Skulls are guaranteed in every round: it doesn’t matter if you die, respawn, or get revived, the magic of the Skulls is still present.”
In said post, it is also announced that there will be a Gruntpocalypse Fiesta version, in addition to a free Operation Pass with rewards.
