Neil Gaiman is becoming one of the most (and best) adapted authors of the last decade. American Gods and Good Omens, from Amazon Prime Video, join the unbreakable Sandman from Netflix… and so many other adaptations of his work that have been created. Now, one of the author’s works returns to Netflix: a terrifying thriller that has nothing to envy to his other creations.
The Dead Detectives is the upcoming hit series on Netflix that adapts Gaiman’s work. It premieres on April 25th on the streaming platform, so they have just released a trailer that makes it very clear where they are going. Just one clue: the title leaves no room for error.
The Gaiman universe at its best
The plot of The Dead Boy Detectives follows Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), two young British men who died in different times and started a beautiful friendship in the afterlife. Since then, they work as detectives solving all kinds of mysteries, while also running away from witches, Hell, and even Death itself. All of this with the help of Crystal (Kassius Nelson), a young medium who tries to solve different paranormal cases that take place in the world of the living.
