Destiny 2 is not even seven years old, but it already has a ten-year history behind it. Everything that happened in the first Destiny has been unfolding in Destiny 2, concluding in the current arc, the saga of light and darkness. Fans of the game have been waiting for months for the next expansion, which promises to close the story, but it has suffered some delays. Until today, we have finally learned new details about it.
After being delayed for four months, The Final Form has finally been revealed to fans. With a trailer that showcases all the new features in just two minutes, it promises to be one of the most significant expansions in the game’s history. Partly because of the amount of content, partly because of the story. But above all, because it will allow us to do something we have never been able to do before: combine Light and Darkness.
The great addition of The Final Shape is the prismatic subclass, which will allow Guardians to combine certain powers of Light and Darkness. This will lead to each class obtaining a new distinct grenade, combining different elements of the subclass. Warlocks will mix stasis with void. Titans, binding with arc. Hunters, solar with stasis. Thus giving rise to combinations that, according to Ben Wommack, lead combat designer of Destiny 2, “feel a bit broken”. Exactly what we want to hear before a new expansion comes out.
In addition, there will be new enemies to face, which will form a new faction: the Horrors. The Ánima are a kind of bat that will slow us down and even nullify our abilities if we get too close. The Cascarón are a melee-based enemy from which a creature will emerge unless we kill them by hitting their weak point. And the Assistant and Weaver, who use stasis and binding abilities respectively, will force us to think about our positioning in order to avoid falling prey to their abilities.
In addition, the game will include new advantages and new content, as well as new activities and rewards. All of this will arrive on June 4th for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
