Lately, it has become a trend to throw strange things at singers during their concerts, for reasons only known to God. TikTok-related stuff, I guess. A Pink fan recently shocked the artist by throwing their mother’s ashes at her, an incident she had never experienced in her nearly thirty-year career. The singer took the ashes, said, “I’m not sure how I feel about this,” and tried to finish the song as best as she could. But it could be worse. It could be Lil Nas X.

Not exactly a microphone

I don’t know what you had achieved in your life by the age of 24, but Lil Nas X can boast of having recorded a studio album, 18 singles (including songs for ‘League of Legends’), and won two Grammys. He has done it all in a very short time, but that doesn’t mean he stops being surprised while doing his job. For example, the other day he was performing at a show in Stockholm during the European Lollapalooza festival and had a surprise similar to Pink’s. Well, kind of.

Lil Nas X was singing his own version of ‘Down souf hoes,’ dressed in bull-shaped underwear, when a fan threw… their male masturbator at him. Luckily, the artist was quick on his feet, managed to stop the music, and responded with, “Who threw their pussy on the stage?” before leaving it on the floor.

Pink and Lil Nas X are not the only victims of this strange trend. For example, Bebe Rexha ended up with a swollen eye after someone in the audience (who was later arrested) maliciously and accurately threw their mobile phone at her. Ava Max received a slap from a man who intended to give her a hug, and even Charli XCX has speculated with her fans about the things they could potentially throw at her.

Will this lead to more specific control over what can and cannot be brought into a concert? Will people be prohibited from entering with sex toys or ashes of the deceased? An interesting future awaits live music… but not necessarily in a good way.
