We were all amazed when the reboot of the God of War series arrived on PlayStation 4 in 2018. The Ghost of Sparta had captivated audiences on Sony’s earlier consoles, and Santa Monica Studio was tasked with reimagining Kratos’ adventures for the PS4.

As you may know, this game was a huge success, to the point that it won the Game of the Year award, surpassing Red Dead Redemption 2 (although Rockstar faced accusations of crunch during its development).

Four years later, Santa Monica Studio released God of War: Ragnarok. Bigger, more comprehensive, and more enjoyable, it was a game that improved upon its predecessor in every way.

At that time, the rumor had become a reality: Amazon had acquired the rights and was producing a series based on the PlayStation game. They couldn’t let this opportunity slip away.

The Rock to be Kratos in Amazon series?

Due to a viral tweet in the past few hours, everyone has started assuming that The Rock, the WWE star turned actor two decades ago, will be the one to portray Kratos.

The name of the Samoan actor has gained traction, as has Dave Bautista’s (also a former WWE wrestler and now an actor).

Some even argue that the motion capture and voice actor, Christopher Judge, should be the one to embody the Ghost of Sparta on the small screen. In fact, Judge himself has expressed this viewpoint on Twitter.

Well, the reality is that the tweet that caused all the commotion is nothing more than a hoax. Or so it seems. After investigating the source cited by the Twitter user, TMZ, we haven’t found any information related to the topic.

Even after searching on Google for any traces of this information, we discovered that all the media outlets refer back to the aforementioned tweet. In other words, there is no source because the information is fabricated.

We would love to see The Rock as Kratos. It’s possible he would do a great job. But the reality is quite different. Although, considering his physique, bald head, and age, he would be an ideal older Kratos.
