Sonic Frontiers was a title that, although it could have been better in many aspects, ended up conquering the audience. After reaching a good sales figure, the release of a DLC, Final Horizon, was announced. Now, a new rumor indicates that the Sonic Team is developing a sequel.
According to ComicBook, the original rumor was posted by user DanielIRPK on X and later confirmed by Midori. Both profiles are considered reliable sources when it comes to video game news, so the community has started speculating that it might be true.
Midori clarifies that the title is a sequel that would bring back the mechanics seen in Frontiers but with another name: “the title is a sequel to Frontiers in terms of gameplay, but the name could change. Frontiers was Rangers until it was announced“. It seems evident that the Sonic Team is very satisfied with the Frontiers formula and is looking for new ways to apply it.
If you haven’t tried Sonic Frontiers yet, this may be a good opportunity. You can find it available on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC.
