For years now, the Star Wars universe‘s best friend has undoubtedly been The Simpsons. The original Fox series became a Disney series in 2019. Since then, collaborations between the two franchises have been ongoing.

As part of Disney’s celebration of Star Wars Day (4 May), the company has produced a new Simpsons short featuring Maggie. The little Simpsons girl is a classic Simpsons character.

It’s called Rogue Not Quite One and will be available on Disney+ on 4 May

“On his way to kindergarten, Homer loses track of Maggie, who hops into Grogu’s flying pram for a hyperspace adventure across the galaxy,” reads a line from the film’s description.

“Taking on a squadron of Imperial TIE fighters, Maggie brings the battle to Springfield in this epic short film celebrating all things Star Wars.” Just don’t expect a long episode, it’s usually no longer than 5 minutes.

Judging by the images, it looks like Maggie will be taking to the intergalactic skies to defeat the Dark Side.

Rogue Not Quite One is the latest Simpsons short dedicated to Maggie. It follows The Force Awakens from Its Nap (2021), The Longest Daycare (2012) and Playdate With Destiny (2020). The Longest Daycare was nominated for an Oscar, but ultimately lost to the short film Paperman.

This new Simpsons celebrating Star Wars content is just the beginning of the franchise’s celebration coming May 4 to Disney+, the home of Star Wars since the platform launched.

The reason May 4 is known as Star Wars Day is because of this reason: “May the Fourth Be With You”. This can be translated as may the fourth be with you, or may the force be with you. Hence the pun.
