The creations of generative models like DALL-E or Stable Diffusion had already managed to amaze the world with everything they were capable of doing. Midjourney, one of the most popular models, has released a new version, Midjourney V6.
How can I use Midjourney?
First of all, it is mandatory that you have a Discord account. This is due to the generation process, which requires us to interact with a bot through the official Midjourney server.
The update is not active by default and will use version 5.2. To use it, we will have to do it from /settings or write –v 6 after our prompt. These are some of the improvements that Midjourney V6 offers compared to its previous version:
- The model is now capable of adapting much better to our descriptions (or prompts). They can also be much longer, up to more than 350 words.
- You can specify colors and other details.
- You will be able to place all kinds of elements in the generations, like frames. You can even add texts.
- When writing what we want to generate, we can “talk” to Midjourney in the style of how we would with ChatGPT. It is capable of better understanding natural language.
After entering our prompts, the Midjourney bot will start generating our image. Depending on how complex the request is, the bot may take a few seconds or a few minutes. Once finished, you will be given several options to choose from, so you can decide which one best fits what you wanted to achieve. At this point, you can proceed in two ways: keep the image you like the most or continue improving it.
You should also keep in mind that Midjourney V6 is in alpha mode, with all that it entails (constant changes and updates, errors, etc).
