Police officers, firefighters, miners, truck drivers… and now, a new profession joins the classic high-risk jobs: streamers. Yes, it might seem like spending six hours a day at home playing video games and interacting with the chat doesn’t entail any physical danger beyond maybe spraining a finger or getting a tired wrist. However, there is an increasing trend of live-streamed robberies happening to those who dare to venture out into the streets.

Followers or life

In July, Jinnytty, a Korean streamer, was on vacation in Amsterdam when two people attempted to steal from her bag while she was live on her channel. However, they didn’t manage to take anything. Earlier, MeesterKeem was also robbed, but he quickly recovered his wallet. However, what happened to Capp is a whole different story.

The streamer was in Toronto with others while streaming live on Twitch from a vehicle with its doors open. Suddenly, he found himself face-to-face with a gun, and the audience could see a man dressed in gray saying, “Give me everything.” The screen went black, there was a sound of struggle, and right after, “Drive, drive, drive. Close, close, close.”

Apparently, as Capp shared on Twitter, he had three guns pointed at him at the same time. However, it seems they only managed to take a silver chain for which the thieves demanded a $100,000 ransom… on Instagram. It’s unclear whether they have paid, but it’s not the smartest move on the criminals’ part, to be honest. Is it just a matter of time until something similar happens to Rubius during a stroll in Andorra or to Ibai around his mansion? Who knows.
