Yesterday one of the most anticipated cooperative multiplayer games of the year was released. The first Helldivers was released in 2015 and managed to sell over 2 million units on Steam. Now its sequel wants to break that record.

After years of waiting, developer Arrowhead Game Studios has finally released Helldivers 2. The sequel to the original shooter game changes the tables and becomes a third-person shooter, although players still have to face hordes of enemies.

It was expected that players would feel upset about the change. However, the fans have made themselves heard loud and clear, making Helldivers 2 surpass Palworld in the Steam charts for a while.

A patch to fix a serious day one issue

Shortly after the release of Helldivers 2, the Arrowhead team posted on Twitter that they were working on an update to fix the various issues on the first day.

The team rushed to inform the players: “We have created a patch and are about to start playing with you to check that it works properly. If it is a success, we will activate a hotfix and send it first to the Steam community, and then to the PS5 players as soon as we can.”

In less than an hour, the team was able to control the situation and deployed the patch on Steam. Although Arrowhead did not share the official patch notes, the team said: “We have uploaded a patch to Steam that should improve matchmaking for PC. The patch also includes other bug fixes that we have identified. We know that there are more things to fix, and we are working on it. However, we hope that this quick patch greatly contributes to improving your experience.”

This means that all of you who are playing Helldivers 2 now should have a better multiplayer experience than what was available in the first few hours of the game’s launch.
