Bad news for trophy hunters. A new bug has been discovered in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth that makes it impossible to obtain one of the game’s trophies on PlayStation 5. According to Kotaku, this error occurs in one of the side missions that can be found towards the end of the game and prevents obtaining the Rebirth platinum trophy.
In the secondary mission, players must achieve the highest score in the arcade simulator G-Bike, located at an advanced point in the game (specifically, at the Gold Saucer). But no matter how hard you try, for now you won’t achieve anything: the game is unable to record your score due to a bug. The culprit has been one of the latest updates, which unexpectedly caused the error.
For now, we just have to wait for the arrival of a new patch that solves the problem. Luckily, there is a solution for players who own a physical copy of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. To fix the bug and be able to obtain the platinum trophy, you just have to uninstall the game while keeping your PS5 disconnected from the Internet at all times. Then, you will have to reinstall it but with your physical disc of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Now, simply access your saved game and you will be able to complete the minigame.
