Instagram has added a new sticker called “Notify” that will allow users to receive notifications of posts from their favorite content creators. With this new sticker, creators can ask their audience to set a reminder to make sure they see their upcoming posts on Instagram.
Once the user clicks on the Notify sticker, they will be able to choose the elements they want to receive notifications about: posts, stories, reels, and LIVE videos. It would be a quite effective way to avoid the usual frustrations when Instagram’s algorithm doesn’t show us the posts from people we follow.
And it is that, as confirmed by Instagram’s own director, Adam Mosseri, not all users see the posts of the content creators they follow: “Nobody reaches all their followers when they post, mainly for two reasons: One, many of their followers will not open the app that day, and two, those who do connect have many more posts to see than time to dedicate to them, and they do not scroll down [in the app] enough to reach all the posts.”
So, if you follow several content creators, but don’t want to miss the posts of a specific one (or several), content creators can publish a story with this sticker with which you can “subscribe” to their content, in the same way as the YouTube or Twitter bell.
